Through the Master of Arts in Education program at Michigan State University, I completed assignments and courses that challenged and advanced my attitudes and beliefs relative to education and coaching. My concentration in sports leadership and coaching has allowed me to gain coaching skills as well as leadership qualities that will help me transition to an administrative role in the future.
As an aspiring athletic administration professional, below is a showcase of work that helped me develop my overall attitudes toward athletics and the positive impacts they can have on those who participate in them. This work also showcases several underlying philosophies that are essential for leadership in today's athletic environments.
Also included is an array of work that showcases my development as a coach. As a coach, I found the skills and experiences I have gathered over the past two years to be extremely beneficial in the field. Below is some of the work that has helped me build the foundation of a successful career in athletics.

Hazing Policy
Hazing continues to be a problem in athletics, colleges and other member-based organizations. As an coach and administrator it is very important to develop a no-tolerance policy in regards to hazing. Hazing can disrupt, ruin; or prevent interested parties in participating in athletics, crippling their expose to the benefits and life skills they offer. This hazing policy is the universal policy I have created and implemented throughout all levels of our high school baseball program.

Success Through Soccer
Sport can oftentimes be seen as the universal language. Success Through Soccer is a program I developed that showcased the impact that sports can have on first generation students. Students participated in a recreational soccer program at North Hennepin Community College while I monitored their attitudes towards college and their success in the classroom. It is amazing to see the positive impacts sport can help provide!

Developing Physical Skill
Skill development and acquisition are crucial in athletics and the main focal point of coaching. Through skill development, athletes can deliver better and more consistent performance on their journey to expertise. While athletes can undoubtedly self-improve through implicit learning tendencies found in free play, coaching helps accelerate this process. While working with an athlete, I documented my interactions in pursuit of physical skill development.
Proper Nutrition for Recovery in Athletes
Coaching includes more than just physical skill building, but includes educating players on proper nutritional recovery to maximize performance and minimize injury. Below are two examples of information I have been able to create and pass on to my high school athletes.
